Identifying Key Concepts in Ambassador Interventions for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education: A Scoping Review

Succeeding at university can be a complex matter, and the barriers are manifold for students with disabilities (SwDs). Accommodations available those needs, but these alone do not meet political goals of inclusive educations. Student ambassadors act as experienced representatives on campuses, supporting others gaining individual benefits themselves. Approaches building SwDs’ experiences capacities means to overcome often faced throughout education. This scoping review aimed map research student ambassador interventions SwDs in higher education identify interventions’ key concepts. The result will inform an intervention Six electronic databases were searched peer-reviewed articles any design published between 2010 December 2020. studies met inclusion criteria. A thematic synthesis resulted three concepts: peer guidance supportive relationships; strategies transferable skills; advocating change.
